PDF and ZIP/PDF: "online reading", support software

2. PDF and ZIP/PDF: "online reading", support software (download)

2.1 "online reading" of PDF files

PDF, ZIP and ZIP/PDF files may have high storage capacities. It may therefore take some time to load them, depending on your Internet access. Please take this into consideration.

If PDF files cannot be opened using the Internet Explorer
In order to read PDF files online using the Internet Explorer, the ActivX elements in the security settings of the browser have to be set at certain security levels.

When you are working with PDF data, we recommend that you always load the files on your hard disks before you open them - which is possible then offline too, incidentally. To do this, please click the link to the PDF file with the right-hand mouse button rather than the left-hand one and then choose the point "Save Target As..." (or "Save Link Target As..." with the browser Mozilla) from the menu that appears.

2.2 PDF files, Acrobat Reader

Certain details are in PDF format. To enable PDF files to open in your browser, you need Acrobat Reader.

To open PDF files, we recommend standard browsers, plus ...

...the use of Acrobat
Reader (Version 7.0 or newer)

Download the current version of
Acrobat Reader!
The links listed lead initially to the homepage of the relevant browser supplier. Once there, click on the relevant "download" link. There is no charge for the software.

2.3 Compressed PDF files, ZIP/PDF

Files, in particular large files which are not intended to be opened online, are available from us in compressed form (ZIP files). When you click the link for a ZIP (compressed) file, the browsers mentioned above will ask whether the file should be opened or downloaded onto your hard disk. When this happens, you MUST choose to download to your hard disk. Once the file has been downloaded from the homepage onto a folder on your hard disk, you can end your internet connection (come offline). To decompress the file, you will require the relevant software, such as WinZip, or similar.
